According to Androsky Lugo the first quarter of this two-quarter sequence introduces students to representation techniques used in architecture. Students learn the basics of hand-drawing, two-dimensional digital techniques, and perspective drawing. Students develop comprehensive digital media and hand-drawing skills during this course. This course introduces concepts and fundamentals of design, and students are encouraged to use them to communicate their ideas. They will also engage in investigative projects, which give them the opportunity to use digital representation and communication to market their projects.
The second part of the course focuses on the design process. Students learn how to communicate and market their ideas to clients. This course combines lectures with hands-on experience. As per Androsky Lugo the third required course examines architectural discourse in the world from 1945 to today. Students examine the strategic role of architecture theory, as well as the changes in technology and construction methods.
